This is Connor. He's been Ari's best friend since they were babies and they're the closest as best friends can be. When she moved away from California for college, he was devastated. Like, truly devastated because he felt like he was losing part of his life, y'know? They'd been there for each other through literally everything and now she was just packing up and going? It sucked.
More so because, even though he'd never told her, he'd fallen for her. Call it cliche but who better to fall for than your best friend. It was the way he saw it at least. However, over the time she was away he'd buried those feelings and tried to move on. Almost successfully too..until she came back to spend time with her family and he realized it was going to take a lot more effort if he really wanted to get over her.
Unfortunately this was around the time the end of the world came and everything was thrown into chaos. Their town seemed to get overrun and he panicked; Ari could've been caught up in it and he wasn't around to save her. He crossed town to get to her parents' house to find her, but the night he arrived all there was was...blood. It was like a massacre had swept through their house and he honestly feared the worst. However, he wouldn't let himself believe that she was dead and focused on hoping she'd gotten out and was somewhere in the town. He searched all night until he went back home in the morning and found her hiding out on his front porch. He, at that point, didn't think he could've been more relieved.
They stayed at his place while he tried to calm her down and comfort her but it soon became apparent that she wasn't going to talk about it. Or about anything for that matter and he simply had to deal with it. Connor set plans in motion for them to leave the town, hotwiring a truck from his next door neighbours drive and taking them to the next place over where he hoped to find help. Or at least more survivors. Unfortunately they're still looking to this day.

Connor, as you can tell, is pretty protective over Ari and he'd do anything he could to keep her safe. He's pretty scared himself about the whole situation though, but he's learned to put that fear to one side in order to keep them both alive.
He tries to look on the bright side of things and injects as much humour into their lives as he can. Better to be laughing than crying, right? He can be trusting of those who he thinks has earned it but respect is slightly harder to gain.
He still has feelings for Ari but he's actively trying to forget them and bury them for the sake of their friendship. Not to mention he thinks the trauma that she's been through would only cause a bigger rift between them should a "relationship" not work out. He'll flirt with girls though and, given the situation, he's not a stranger to keeping beds warm for a night. That's obviously something he keeps from Ari when possible though.

Other than that. I'd like to give you some free reign on shaping him to your style. Obviously we can discuss stuff if you need to but yeah; have fun with him. Ari just needs her best friend :]]
