Ma'ali was so excited she couldn't contain herself. She had been going out of her mind excited to see Evie finally. It had felt like it had been a million years since she had seen her friend. She needed to talk to her badly but more important she needed to see the face of who she called her sanity on occasions. She had been through a lot lately with living in the Coven. She didn't mind rules but something had to be done with all the newbies coming in and trying to run the place.
Gathering the cloaks she had made over the passed two days, she packed them up into a gift bag and put some cute tissue in with it so she could present it as a present. Smiling big she got dressed in her white corset duo. The top was a side lace up corset with stitching of red around the bottom and red tribal stitching up the sides where the laces were. The bottom skirt was to her feet and had the same pattern with the tribal stitching up the sides and at the bottom. She wore a pair of 3 inch wrap around sandals. Since she was going to be outside she wanted to make sure she was comfortable for the weather.
Putting on her black hooded cloak, she slipped out of her room. She greeted those she passed in the hallway, on the stairs and on her way out. Once outside, she took off and walked very quickly. She did not stop to see people but she would wave and hurry faster. This meeting had her all crazy happy and such. She reached the spot in Big sister Creek because it was gorgeous. She had called Evie earlier and told her to meet her there instead of Rustboro. This felt like a better place to meet up at since it was one of the most gorgeous spots ever. She found a place with all grass and flowers. She settled herself down in the grass and waited with a huge grin on her face.

OutfitDeirdre, in truth, was rather excited to see a food friend of her's from the Coven. It had been a while since she had been behind the stone walls. And she was not quite ready to go back yet. She had taken her leave of absence under the guise of finding herself a new Devotee. However, she wasn't out looking for just that. If she happened to find someone that she could love, as well as that could love her, well... Then she would be truly fortunate. However, that wasn't why she left. She needed to get away. They asked her to forget too much -- Too many sins had been dealt at the hands of her Sire, and that wasn't something that one just 'got over.'
She made her way toward Big Sister Creek, knowing full well why her friend picked the place. Not only was it beautiful, but it wasn't highly populated. The only other Old Bloods that would find them there would be the ones that have either left the Coven, or ones that were breaking the rules to feed off of some stranger, and drain them. There was nothing more intoxicating to them then to drink before the heart stopped; the blood was thickest, the memories, the fear... It was all tangible when one fed right to the last drop.
Hunger churned her stomach as she continued to walk, her hand moving over the leather underbust corset that she wore. She could feel the infection that coursed through her veins, making her what she was, demand something to eat. It had been far too long since she had taken a living host to her lips and drank freely from them. Actually, it had been years since she had a live host. She often snuck off to the blood bars, under the guise of getting drunk. In all reality, she just wanted to feed.
It wasn't the healthiest way to live, but Evie had her standards on who she fed from. When there was love between Devotee and Old Blood there was no love to be felt in the blood. Only the marsh memories from both parties. And that was truly not something that she needed. Especially since she tended to hold onto memories a great deal longer than she should. She pressed her lips together, as she looked around Big Sister Creek. It didn't take long for her to find a cloaked figure that she recognized as Ma'ali.
She walked quickly toward her, a wide grin on her face. She wrapped her arms around her in a warm embrace. "Ma'ali, my friend! It's been far too long." she whispered, still holding her close.

Ma'ali stood up and hugged Evie tightly. "I missed you so!" She told her and she held her close. She never wanted to let her friend go. Holding her close what seemed eternity, only a minute, she let her go and looked her over. "You look paler than usual... and a bit smaller than I remember you." she said as she walked around Evie now examining her. She was a bit surprised actually to see she had slimmed down a little. Oh well, that was not the point of the visit. It was to see her and give her the cloaks and talk to each other.
"Come! Sit!" Ma'ali encouraged her. Her accent was very thick but mostly out of excitement. "So tell me!! How goes it? What have you been up to other than what you have told me!" of course she had questions and things she was so eager to hear. Pulling out the bag she handed it to Evie and smiled. The bag was made of a velvet material and she hoped that Evie had liked it. She made it as extra for her and the cloaks were inside with the tissue. She wasn't joking when she thought of it as a gift bag. "I hope you love them!" she told her friend and crossed her fingers in her head.
Around them seemed so peaceful and quiet. She liked that idea and also that very few came around this part that were Old Bloods, so she was safe from being seen by but so many. It was refreshing to get out and away from all the chaos and drama at times. Even the older Old Bloods were becoming very hard to deal with. Ma'ali was up there with the year she was born and how old she had already been when things happened to her. She needed the vacation time to see her friends. "Tell me everything!" she smiled and prodded her friend to spill her guts. Ma'ali had always trusted Evie as a friend and hoped that she would tell her if things weren't going well for her or even if they were extremely well. Jealousy or anger was never part of their friendship for her. It was all about acceptance and finding someone to hang and talk to that you could share things with.

She was thankful for the embrace. It had been quite some time since she had been in the arms of someone that she cared for. In fact, the last time was actually when she was at the Coven. She breathed in the familiar scents of incense, and the smell of the old brick that surrounded their Coven. Oh, it was a wonderful smell. She smiled as Ma'ali, in her heavy accent, admitted to missing her as well. But then, the interrogation began. Swallowing, she allowed her to survey her. "You look well." she began, a grin on her lips. "But I have no Devotee... Which is why I look paler and smaller." she explained, suddenly regretting not wearing the cloak.
Evie followed her, happy to take a seat beside her. The questions came fast; faster than she expected. "I am doing well. I can't complain. I am making it by being a purchaser of sorts, and procuring safe passage with whichever raider group is available. But, I am doing well." she smiled. "And what of you? How has life been treating you?" Mi'ila offered her a bag that felt as though it were made out of velvet. She smiled as she pulled out the cloaks. Beautifully made, like she remembered them being. "Oh, how I love them!" she said, wrapping her arms around Ma'ali, giving her a thankful kiss on the cheek. "Thank you, so very much."
"There really isn't much to tell." Evie confessed. "I can tell you a few stories that I have picked up along the way, traveling with the Raiders?" she asked, smirking. "But then you owe me a few stories as well then, love!"

Ma'ali nodded as she explained why she was so small. That explained it all for her. Ma'ali would do a dance for her later tonight to help her find a Devotee. Though Ma'ali was part of the Coven, the one thing she never forget was where she had come from. Most chose to forget and start anew, but when she chose to start anew she vowed to herself more than anyone else, that she would never forget where she came from. It had been a struggle but she held onto her beliefs and they kept her alive, or so she liked to believe. Smiling she listened to her friend talk and then came the questioned for her as well.
"Well um... I guess you can say ok, but I have been a bit stuck lately."[/b]she said and looked around cautiously a bit. "I want to leave... I want to explore on my own like I did four hundred year ago. I want to travel and see the world again, it has changed over the years."[/b]. The way she spoke, she used her hands as emphasis. To someone that didn't know her, Ma'ali seemed like a dreamer. She had big dreams and she wanted to explore them all, but rules and restrictions held her back. [color=lightblue" I don't want to be tied down alone anymore. I haven't made any real friends except for you Evie... everyone else is so obsessed with being on top, that nothing else seems to matter. I am always questioned as to my intentions at times and others, I can't seem to walk out of those walls without feeling like they are watching me. I feel..trapped Evie."[/color][/b] she told her friend and her face conveyed the emotion of worry and sadness.
Clearing her throat and fixing her hair that had fallen into her face, she put back on a smile and sighed. "If we are exchanging stories, I have a good one for you! But you first. I want to hear all about the outside."[/b] she sounded like an eager kid to learn but it was also to change the subject. The meeting was supposed to be a happy one, so she wanted to keep it in that note instead of bringing it down into a sad visit. There would be another time to discuss those thing but for now, she wanted to hear all about Evie.

Evie nodded her understanding when she began speaking on how she felt. The Coven had rules that no one could truly abide by. They wanted the members of the Coven to forget the lives that they had led before joining them. She understood why; it would mitigate the amount of fighting between them. But those that spoke with accents, those that portrayed themselves to be natives from where they used to be, as opposed to a Coven member were... punished. Severely. It as a life that Evie hated living by. She never would have put herself in that situation if it wasn't for the fact that she was trying to get away from Octavio.
Giving her a friend a sympathetic nod and even more sympathetic look she murmured her understanding. "They are watching, and that's the scary part." she swallowed. "I'm just fortunate that I never made a ruckus when I was living there, otherwise they wouldn't have granted me this leave. They believe that I'm hunting for a Devotee; not actually leaving. Hence why, my attire is still that of a Coven member." she swallowed and looked to the side, wondering whether or not Ma'ali would have the conviction to leave. While she was a dreamer, and wished to travel, there was a little problem with anyone's plans on moving.
The Coven provided protection, and security. Stability, in times where their kind will not be truly accepted.
Evie smiled and ran a hand through her hair, thinking about what she could tell Ma'ali. Something light. Something happy... about the world that she lives in now. About the life that she is leading, and the people that she is meeting. She took a deep breath, thinking back to the lovely little ginger children that she had met that were involved with a group of Raiders.
"I was traveling around for a bit. Not particularly looking for a Devotee, but just enjoying riding on a rig, and experiencing the life that the Raiders led. I ended up finding a group that had two lovely little girls. They were red heads with eyes as blue as the oceans." she smiled at their memory. A wave of melancholy washed over her as she wondered what they were doing with themselves nowadays, but unfortunately, she had to move on. She had to leave them. If not for their safe keeping for her own. But, that was something to dwell on another time. For right now, she was telling her fear friend a story.
"I grew hungry the one night, and they asked what I ate, so they could go cook it. I smiled at them, and told them about us, about... what we fed off of. They both looked at me, and made a face and said, 'icky.'" she laughed. "But then, they went off for a bit, leaving me to my studies. They came back with their mother, who was grinning from ear to ear. She had managed to get a blood bag from a local hospital and ended up pouring it into a bottle of wine." Her smile grew a touch sad at the memory. It was a good memory.
"They said, that they wanted to make it special, since they were making dinner for me. So, I feasted on glasses of blood wine while they performed their own little chamber orchestra pieces. Fully equipped with 'Mary Had a Little Lamb', and 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."

Ma'ali could tell that Evie understood her problem. The only time her accent came out was when she was with Evie. It was the last thing she had from her previous life but she couldn't let it go. It was a part her just like her eyes, her skin, her hair and more. She knew the penalties for carrying around your "former self" so she kept it as hidden as she could. " As long as you are safe while you are out there. That is all that counts."[/b] she told her friend and she smiled at her. In the back of her head however, she was praying that Evie was really doing ok and nothing was holding her back from living the life she wanted.
Listening to the story she smiled and was genuinely interested. She was amazed at how well the people took what she was. "Aww that is so precious! And cute!"[/b] she said and laughed. She remembered the first time she had ever heard those songs, and she liked them. Her Sire had sang them to her to put her to sleep everytime she fed off her and had sang twinkle twinkle little start when she turned her. As strange as it sounded, she understood why she used those songs."It sounds so....beautiful Evie.. really beautiful. I...want to come with you!"[/b] she looked at her with liquid light brown eyes. Ma'ali didn't know if she was serious or just saying it because that was what she was thinking.

Evie fixed her with an honest smile. The Coven was a safe place. They all knew that. They all understood that when they first became a part of it. They were safe from segregation; from judgment. They always had food. And furthermore, they were safe from those that would try to be rid of them. While a stake to the heart wouldn't kill them, it certainly would hurt enough that they would be laid out for quite a few days. Evie understood this better than anyone, having had most of her life be outside of the Coven walls. Truth be told, she spent the better part of her life trying to escape the confines of it, instead of abiding by it's laws.
"I'm always careful." she said, without missing a beat, the same honest smile on her lips. The last thing that she wanted was for her friend to be scared for her. Or even worse, be so scared that she decided to follow after Evie. The life that she lived was dangerous. Perhaps, she lived the way she did because she liked it, or maybe it was the only way that she could survive outside of the Coven's wall. She hadn't the faintest idea. But something told her dwelling on it would simply ruin the experience for her.
Evie would never tell Ma'ali about the hardships that she had encountered along the way. Those that took her on because they wanted to be protected from the infection, and those that were completely judgmental to what she was and what she was looking for. As Old Bloods, they all knew that they would be judged harshly upon leaving their homes. But, she never wanted to tell Ma'ali that it was happening to her. Their bond was close; whatever hurt Evie would surely hurt her.
"They were beautiful." she admitted, nodding. "But, they were definitely more receptive. Probably because of their youth." she said, after hearing Ma'ali say that she wanted to be a part of her lifestyle. It frightened her. She wanted Ma'ali to be safe. While she was older than her, she was a dreamer. She was more likely to fall for the tricks that others played on them. She was too kind to have any semblance of skepticism. Then again, Evie could be wrong, and her need to protect her could have been clouding her judgment of her friend.
"If you're going to leave the Coven, do as I did. File to leave under the pretense of trying to find a Devotee for yourself. You've been around the Coven for quite some time. I'm certain they would have no trouble allowing you that time. However, if you're going to travel with me, give me time to find some place safe for us to go." she said. It broke her heart to say it that way, but unfortunately, she couldn't lie to her friend about what hardships she would face living this life. It was one thing when Evie was trying to show her that she was alright; it was another when she was trying to rip her away from the repressive confines of The Coven.

Ma'ali nodded at her and she took Evie's hands in her own."I want this.. I want it badly. I can't keep living there like I am happy. I ventured for a long while without the protection of the Coven when I was just starting out. I know what can happen to me, what I am at risk for and such. I am not without my own form of protection and I have spent my days doing stupid things that I never wanted to do. Rules are meant to be broken.."[/b] she smiled at the last part because it was partially true. "I want to see the world I left when I joined the Coven. I am not scared, nor worried for myself. I made it out there before, I can do it again."[/b] she told her friend and she tried to assure her she was very serious.
Looking around, not in suspicion but just to do so, she smiled. " I miss this... being able to sit outside and not worry about things. I want to lay in the grass with it under my feet and feel the wind glide through my hair."[/b] as she said it, a small gust of wind came and blew their hair to the left gently tugging on it. Looking at Evie, she looked as if she was going to cry. Her eyes were wavering. "I just...can't do it anymore here.."[/b]

Evie squeezed her hand, her face just as transparent now as it had always been. She was never very good at hiding what was going on in her head. Unless, of course, she was intentionally making herself unreadable. A skill that she had picked up over the years, but one that she never utilized with her friends. Ma'ali was one of the only people that she never truly bothered to hide that side of herself from. They were kin, in more ways than just having the Dark Gift. Swallowing, she looked down at the grass, just past where their fingers interlocked.
"I will do what I can for you." she sighed, looking up at her, her cleavage rising and falling as her breathing grew deeper. She was thinking. Panicking in a small way. She wanted to see her friend happy, but she didn't want to see her in danger to do it. Ma'ali had made a point to tell her that she had been through this before and that she would be fine, but that did nothing to settle this anxious feeling that was growing in her breast. They would have to work hard to find travel. They would have to try and find a place that would be acceptable for both of them.
Pressing her lips together in a thin line, she looked up at the dark skinned beauty that she sat beside. "All I ask is that you give me the time necessary to find us a safe place." she said, her voice suddenly very hushed, as though she was afraid that there would be more Old Bloods lurking in the corners of their vision; behind trees, perhaps in the water, waiting for her to say one wrong thing before pulling their breathless, semi lifeless bodies from the deepest trenches of the creek.
"You're going to have to do it the right way," she reiterated. "The last thing that you'd want would be the Coven traveling after you. We're not very good at hiding our tracks from our own kind, unfortunately." she mused. "And we'll need coin. Lots of coin to book passage." she said, quietly. "Do you understand?" she asked, looking back up at her. The friendly smile on her lips was gone now as she looked her friend over. They were going to partake in something that she never thought she would ever do; she was stealing a woman from the Coven to help her lead a new life.
There was something, almost vigilante about that.

Ma’ali nodded at her and brushed her own hair from her face. ”I will see how much I can get. I have a bit saved up as a stash for just in case things.”[/b] she told Evie and sniffled a bit. She was so unsure about this but she needed the freedom. She was missing it and it got harder and harder every day she waited. Nothing felt right anymore. But what was more; she was hiding a slight important fact in her need to get out. She wanted to find her Sire if she was still living. The pull to see, to go find her, was strong within her and she did not feel like she could ignore it.
She had joined the Coven with the hopes of protection, acceptance and so that she could stop running when raids happened. Her freedom meant everything to her but not at the cost the Coven was trying to take from her. Ma’ali was very understanding but to an extent and the rules being pushed on her, where not that extent. She wanted more out of it and right now, she wasn’t getting what she had signed up for. Maybe she could find it all on the outside?
Looking back up at Evie and smiled at her.”I want to thank you for doing this for me. No one else would take a risk like this for me…I really want to thank you. If you ever need anything and I mean anything, let me know. I am here for you. I know I can trust you.”[/b] Ma’ali had liked Evie from the time she met her. She was a great person, a great friend and very truth worthy. She was glad to have her and call her, her best friend.

Evie gave her a genuine smile. She cared a great deal for Ma'ali. They had been through hell together, and she was determined to see that they would be able to do it quite a few more times before the world finally collapsed in upon itself. Squeezing her hand, she nodded her understanding. "And the same goes for you." she said, a soft tone coming to her voice. It was clear that she was concerned for Ma'ali. This lifestyle was not one that was easily led. It was difficult. And a lot of times, one found themselves with a broken heart that just didn't want to be fixed. She feared that Ma'ali might find herself in that situation.
But, she would do everything in her power to make sure that it never happened.
Clearing her throat, she looked up at her, her eyes searching hers. The Coven took care of them all financially. So long as they were within the walls, they were able to access all that they wanted. Evie sniffed, knowing that it was going to be difficult. "Here is what I want you to do..." she began, her throat almost growing tighter as she tried to speak. There were so many things that she needed to say, and that she needed to explain to her.
"I want you to go back to the Coven, and I want you to start working on corsets... cloaks... any type of clothes that you can, alright?" she said, making sure that Ma'ali was paying complete attention to her. "I want you to make a stock of all of them. Offer your services for custom clothes... Whatever you need to do. Set up a stall in Rustboro. Or wherever you can, and sell as much as you can. As soon as you leave the Coven you are not going to be supported by them at all.
She looked up at the sky, seemingly trying to put together a series of numbers in her head. "I want you to contact me when you have at least seven hundred dollars to your name. Then, we can try and procure passage for us. You'll need to financially carry yourself for a bit while you're on the rig. That's the only reason that I've been picked up as many times as I have. More often than not, I pay for food for the crew for a week."
