She wasn't the type that he would normally go for. For starters, she was french. Secondly, she was blond. But, none of that seemed to matter. She was just... radiant, in every sense of the word. While, he was incredibly trusting, she was a bit skeptical. Especially of him. Then again, it didn't help that he had sauntered up to her as though it was perfectly normal to come out of the woods shirtless, only to strike up conversation with the first person that one saw. Oh well, Aodhan had a rather strange sense of what was acceptable and what wasn't.
To him, it was perfectly normal. But to her, clearly that was reason enough to cause her to pause. And hide what it was that she was working on from him. The memory brought a smile to his lips. It wasn't often that a girl got him bashful, but... she had somehow managed to find a way. It had been so long since he had even contemplated letting a woman into his heart since his wife that he had almost forgotten what it was like to adore someone.
Truth be told, he had expected that it was only to be a one time meeting. But, she had found him on his dating page, and had made a point of asking if he had found his Irish lass yet. And... from there, they exchanged numbers... And that was what had brought them to this point. He had texted her and asked if she had anything of her father's left... When she had replied and agreed to lend them to him, they met up, briefly and... Aodhan went about and did all that he had to do. Some would say, that he was attempting to court her. Others would just say that he was being "nice."
Aodhan didn't really know what he was trying to do anymore. All he knew was that he wanted to see her smile. Whenever she did, he felt a smile come to his lips. Which didn't happen as much as he would like. So, of course he wanted to spend more time around her. She was fascinating to him. And... she was intelligent, breathtakingly beautiful, relaxed, composed... everything that a man could have wanted in a woman. If he was to start dating again, he couldn't think of a better candidate.
Although, he would have to wait a little bit longer before he completely decided that he wanted to be in a relationship with her. Unfortunately, with Aodhan, that would require him taking her as a Devotee. And he didn't want to think about that. At least, not yet. She still had no idea that he was... Well, as others would call him a leech. And that bothered him. Greatly. He wanted to be up front about what he was, but no one would trust him, and he certainly wouldn't be able to help rebuild the way that he was.
Pushing the thoughts aside, he forced a smile onto his lips as he looked up at the sky. He tugged the straps of the back pack tighter against him, waiting for Ronnie to arrive.

Ronnie was surprised at how her life had developed over the past few days. Previously everything had been rather mundane and average, but then...she met a stranger. His name was Aodhan and he was certainly different to the people she'd met before. Mostly because how she'd met him was when he came strolling out of nowhere, shirtless no less, and started up a conversation as if this kind of thing was just every day stuff. It wasn't, and it kind of made her slightly paranoid about him but..well, he didn't seem so bad after they conversation progressed. He actually turned out to be pretty sweet and kind, and he made her smile too. He even called her Veronica; nobody called her Veronica.
This was kind of the reason she then turned into a failure cyber stalker and went looking for him. She knew that if she didn't she'd probably never talk to him again and that prospect wasn't one she found she liked. Surprisingly, or not, she found him on a dating site which was actually pretty brilliant because, not only did she then have a starting point for conversation, she could find out what he was looking for. The main thing she seemed to be lacking was..well, being Irish. She wasn't even quite sure how she felt about that.
Nevertheless, they exchanged numbers and he ended up texting her. To her surprise it was to ask about the clothes she had which had been made by her father. Ronnie wasn't entirely sure what he wanted to borrow them for but, because she had nothing much to lose from it, she met up with him to hand them over and leave them in his care. That had been a day or so ago before she received another text from him asking that she meet him by big sister creek.
Ronnie had been working at the time, attempting to fix up an old computer she'd traded for and getting worked up over the fact that she couldn't find the issue that prevented it from even turning on. She supposed it may have been because she had a lot on her mind, especially since the previous day one of her hiding spots for her gear had been raided and she'd lost vital parts she could've used for this project. Still, the text from Aodhan had proved a welcome distraction and she tried to fix up her appearance a little -- so she didn't look so much like she'd just been tramping through an old warehouse and sorting through piles of crap to find bits that were worth something. It was probably the worst part of being a rebuilder; it wasn't exactly the most glamorous job in the world.
Wiping her hands off on her ripped jeans, she tugged her tank top down from where it had ridden up slightly and then pulled her hair back into a messy kind of bun. It would seriously have to do because she already figured she was running late as it was, having gotten distracted for the last ten minutes with an interesting looking gadget. Oh, Ronnie. You geek, you. Rushing out of the building she worked in, she locked it up and then jogged part of the way towards the creek, stopping when she realized she'd overheat and get all sweaty and unattractive. Because that would've made much difference to her clearly scruffy looking outfit -- ripped jeans and a worn-looking tank top, anyone?
Reaching the creek in what she hoped was record time, she spotted Aodhan and a smile found its way to her face. Why? She had no idea. All she'd done was see him there so why she felt the sudden need to smile was beyond her. She blamed him completely. "Hey, stranger." Ronnie greeted, her smile turning into a grin as she walked up to stand beside him. She didn't think he was comfortable enough for greeting hugs yet so she hung back, stuffing her hands into her pockets. "What's up? Can't get enough of me?" She teased, feeling a little more comfortable around him now since their first meeting.

She was gorgeous, even though she was wearing a ratty pair of jeans and a worn tank top. But, Aodhan was the kind of doof that thought a woman looked her most beautiful right when she first woke up... With messed up hair, and a sleepy smile. He swallowed back a fit of arousal at the thought of her, naked in his bed, wearing nothing but his sheets. That was... entirely too ungentlemanly of him. If he knew her better, and knew that she wouldn't take offense to such thoughts, he would have apologized for seeing her in that way, before he had properly courted her.
But, he didn't, and he was pretty certain that any speak of interest in a sexual fashion would be greeted with a very... odd look. And probably her writing him off as a creeper. He enjoyed her company, and the last thing he wanted to do was push her away. So, he stuffed his hands in his pockets, his eyes moving to the canvas bag that was resting on the ground. It looked just like a regular back pack. And that was the intention. He wasn't about to give her any indicator of what was going on. No siree.
"Hey gorgeous." he smirked in response. He bit back the urge to be a complete fail, and say something along the lines of, "What's cookin' good lookin'." The smirk broadened a bit at the thought, and he quickly pushed the thought aside. He didn't even want to admit to himself that he had had such a... well, stupid thought, let alone to Ronnie... Who the cheesy comment was originally intended for. He bit down on the inside of his cheek and watched her. Oh, she was beautiful... Even with the messy bun. Although, he would have preferred her hair down. He didn't generally care for blonds, but by God, did she wear it well.
"I guess I can't." he admitted, a grin coming to his lips. "But can you blame me? It's not often I get to keep the company of beautiful women." He smirked and tilted his head to the side, his eyes narrowing as he gazed upon her. "And you're the one that happened to get in contact with me first, remember? So I think, you are the one that can't get enough of me." he teased.
Leaning forward, he wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug. While Ronnie may have had her reservations, Aodhan sure as shit didn't. He liked to show that he cared... and that he was interested. At least, make some semblance of his intentions known.

"Hey gorgeous." Her heart skipped for a moment, like any self-respecting woman's would have after she'd just been complimented by an insanely attractive man, and she grinned. A blush threatened to find its way to her cheeks but she fought it back, if only so she didn't seem so fail. She only wished that she actually looked attractive enough to deserve that statement.
Rocking back on her heels she made her next comment, mostly to tease him, and smirked at his answer. Though that smile soon gave way to a laugh and a deep blush. Honestly, she didn't think she'd ever received so many compliments in quick succession before. "And you're the one that happened to get in contact with me first, remember? So I think, you are the one that can't get enough of me." Ronnie brought her hands up to hide her face as she laughed, covering her blush before dropping them again to grin uncontrollably at him. "Well, I quite liked the idea of being able to spend more time with you."
She laughed again then, surprised with how forward she'd actually been. But she had no time to dwell on it because he was moving forwards to wrap her in a hug she enjoyed far too much. Looping her arms around him Ronnie returned his hug warmly and stupidly took notice of the fact he was tall enough for her to have to stand on her tip toes to be able to kiss him. An attractive quality but not something she should've been thinking about, especially because when she pulled away she was blushing again and it was probably a dead give-away.
Clearing her throat she looked down at the bag on the floor to distract herself, the smile she wore not quite ready to leave even though she willed it to stop being so huge. "So, um...why did you want to see me?"

In truth, he enjoyed that thought quite a lot. She was... Amazing. At least, from what he could tell. Sure, he hadn't been with someone in quite some time, and that could have possibly been coloring his opinion of her, but he doubted it. Sometimes, people were just amazing, and she seemed to be one of those girls. He gave her a bit of a lopsided smile as he tilted his head to the side, admiring the faint blush that she wore on her cheeks.
"Well, then we'll have to come up with reasons to spend more time together, aye?" he asked, a grin spreading on his full lips. He was greatly looking forward to any moment that he could spend with her. There was something about her that... Filled him with joy, in one way or another. It was hard to admit to himself, but... she was rivaling the feelings that he had had for his first wife. And he barely knew the girl. Well, his first and only wife. He bit down on his lip and watched her for a moment. "What are you doing tomorrow?" he asked, his tongue dragging absently over his eye tooth.
It was great to have his arms around her. Far better than it had any right to be. A part of him wondered if it was just because he hadn't held a woman to him in a while, or if it was because of the fact that it was her. She was... God above, she was something else. So above and beyond what he had ever expected that he had actually found himself fantasizing about her, before he even had a chance to kiss her... And with someone like Aodhan, that just didn't happen.
"Well...' he said, pushing the thoughts aside. He bent over and grabbed the bag and offered it to her. "Happy birthday." he grinned. When she opened it, she would see that all of her clothes were there, and impeccably repaired. To the point that it almost seemed as though they had never seen a day of damage in their life.

"Oh, do you now?" Another grin blossomed on her face and even though her blush grew slightly darker she made no attempt to hide it this time. "Kinda... Maybe... Pretty much, yeah." She answered, nodding and then laughing at how immature she felt. It should've been a crime for him to make her feel like this. To feel like a kid talking to her crush of years who only just noticed she existed. Ronnie did wonder though, as she watched him and felt a warm sensation flood her chest at his lopsided smile, if he was feeling even remotely the same. Even if it happened to be a funny sort of endearment, surely there had to be a spark of something. Or maybe it was wishful thinking...
By sheer luck alone, Ronnie managed to contain the excited squeak that threatened to escape her when he suggested coming up with reasons to spend time with each other. She couldn't stop herself bouncing in the balls of her feet though and another blush started to creep up along her neck. Though, by the way he'd grinned, she didn't think he'd mind her outward display of excitement. Hell, shoot her for wishful thinking, but he might've even been happy about it. "Yes, we certainly will. Temps avec vous sera du temps bien dépensé." Time with you will be time well spent.
In her moment of happy flailing, she hadn't actually recognized the fact that she'd inadvertantly dropped random French into her sentence and probably wouldn't ever unless he happened to mention it. As he spoke she found that her gaze dropped down to watch his lips, silly fleeting thoughts flitting through her mind, because she caught herself and forced her eyes back up to him. "Hmm, tomorrow? Nothing. Free as a bird." That was such a lie. Really she should've been working on the computers she'd dragged back home, but Aodhan won against technology right now.
Ronnie could've quite literally died happy in his embrace. It was warm and...well, it was safe. She really should've felt weird about the fact she'd literally just admitted to herself that she felt protected in his arms but she couldn't bring herself to. The most she promised herself was that she wouldn't accidentally blurt it out to Aodhan, so he wouldn't think she was a clingy freak and never talk to her or hug her again. That would be tragic.
"Happy birthday." She took the bag while giving him a funny look and laughed. "It's not even my birthday yet," She informed him lightly, biting her lip as she opened the bag and peered in. Her smile fell slightly in astonishment at what she saw. He hadn't. Her gaze flew back up to him, almost questioning before she looked down at the clothing folded up neatly again. "Aodhan, I..." Words were escaping her as tears pricked the corners of her eyes. "Thank you. So, so much!" Ronnie eventually choked out, throwing her arms around him again tightly and burying her face into his shoulder while she willed the lump in her throat to go away. "This is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. Thank you." It was mumbled but she knew he'd hear her and she leaned back slightly to press a kiss to his cheek. "This means so much to me. I don't... I don't know how I could ever repay you."
